Ergonomics means manufacturing products enabling those who use them to work efficiently and without making mistakes, at the same time protecting users from damage to their health from carrying out their work.
The Vario-Carbon handling key is a tool which was developed with this ergonomic approach in mind.
Correct posture, for example together with low torque enables operators to use the Vario-Carbon safely and efficiently.
As a result of being very stable but flexible at the same time, the new Vario-Carbon handling key helps operators to carry out their work and this means that at the same time it makes a contribution to preventing physical problems affecting the joints and spine.
By adjusting the height of the handling key the user can make it the length required to be comfortable to use enabling him to use it while adopting the correct posture. This not only relieves the pressure on his spine but also makes the use of the handling key more efficient.
A Vario-Carbon handling key may be twisted up to 35° when a great deal of torque is applied. The elasticity of the Carbon key relieves the strain otherwise placed on the lumbar region, above all when the key is rotated suddenly in one direction, as can happen when a valve finally starts to loosen up. At the same time the muscles and joints are not subjected to the same level of strain, which has a beneficial impact upon the operator’s health, especially when working in this capacity over a lengthy period of time.
Work-related muscular-skeletal illnesses give rise to the greatest indirect and direct costs in Germany. The reason for this is also that operators are unable to stand upright when applying extreme force. The new Vario-Carbon handling can prevent work-related back problems such as those cropping up when opening and closing valves. This means that unwanted accidents at work can be avoided.
